Marsha
Cohen
Marsha
Cohen is a former writing teacher at Kennesaw State University
just north of Atlanta. Involved in dance for more than 35
years, she, with her late husband Denny, owned Marden
Photographers, Inc. and created Dance Manager software for
studios. Cohen, a freelance writer and co-author of Jazz
Danceology, has written numerous articles on dance and
dancers.
Sandi
Duncan
A former
studio owner, Sandi Duncan is a faculty member at the Melissa
Hoffman Dance Center in New Hampshire where she teaches jazz,
tap, modern, and ballet, and directs the resident dance
ensemble “Subtle Intuition.” She is a choreography clinician
for the “Next Stage” music workshop in Durham, NC, and teaches
workshops and master classes throughout the U.S.
Rima
Faber, Ph.D.
Rima Faber,
Ph.D., has degrees in both education and in dance. She is a
former choreographer, dance company director, and performer.
Dr. Faber is the founding President and Executive Director of
the National Dance Education Organization, where she currently
serves as Program Director. She is a recipient of the
Visionary Award from NDEO, and in 2004 was invited into the
American University Department of Performing Arts Hall of
Fame.
Rhonda
Foote
A second
generation studio owner and dance teacher, Rhonda Foote has
been owner of Rhonda’s FooteWorks in Watertown, NY (www.RhondasFooteWorks.com)
for almost 20 years. She enjoys teaching all levels of dance
and directing the studio’s Dance Outreach Company. An honors
graduate of Hartwick College, Foote considers writing to be
her “other career,” following that of mother and dance
teacher.
Rhee
Gold
Rhee Gold
grew up in dance studios and later operated his own, performed
and choreographed professionally, owned a leading dance
competition, presided over national dance teaching
organizations, and founded Project Motivate to reinvigorate
dance teachers for the long run. His recent book, The
Complete Guide to Teaching Dance is currently in its
second printing.
Tom
Ralabate
Tom
Ralabate is an associate professor of dance at the University
at Buffalo [NY], where he has served as dance director;
assistant chair, dance; and director of Zodiaque Dance
Company, UB’s resident dance company. He has served on
international and national dance faculties for all major dance
organizations and is currently the national education
chairperson for Dance Masters of America.
Debbie
Werbrouck, MDE
Debbie
Werbrouck, MDE, has directed three Indiana locations of Debbie
Werbrouck’s School of Dance for 38 years, and is the founder
and director of Patchwork Dance Company. A former faculty
member of St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN, and past
president of Chicago National Association of Dance Masters,
Werbrouck is currently co-chair of the dance coalition, Unity.
