1. Recharge your dance and personal life!
The everyday challenges of today’s
dance teachers often divert their focus from “why they
became a dance educator in the first place” to wondering how
they’ll manage it all, from the classroom to their personal
lives. Project Motivate is a room full of teachers who live
it, who understand it and who are looking for the “spark” to
start their season on the right foot. Project Motivate helps
attendees refocus their priorities through discussions,
presentations and good old “teachers talking to teachers”!
2. Learn skills to handle the adversity.
So you have had it with the parents and sort of wish that you could just work with the kids. We delve into strategies to overcome the anxiety of “dealing with parents.” Sometimes you feel like you’re giving up so much time for your students and they don’t even show up for rehearsal. We talk about creating policies that work for you, your students and their parents. You’ll learn how to put it in black and white to help eliminate the stress of uncommitted students and their parents. And then there are the moms who believe their child should be in a higher level class or that ballet production, and you know they’re not ready for either. We talk about that too!
3. Balancing the dance life with the family life.
It’s not uncommon for the dance teacher or school owner to spend so much time at the school that they end up missing their own children’s milestones. Or they have hours completely opposite to their significant other and their children so they never see them. Project Motivate explores the ways for dance people to reconnect with their families, and shows them how much that helps to make life a bigger success.
4. Spend four days with people just like you!
In the dance world we don’t often have the chance to spend four days with a group of dance teachers from across North America who are all sharing the same life experiences and who truly understand the highs and the lows. One of the best benefits of Project Motivate is the opportunity to network with such a diverse group of teachers. Many of our returning attendees spend their season communicating with others they’ve met at the seminar.
5. Discover what you do best.
Sometimes we look at other dance teachers or schools, believing that we need to be what they are to be a success. Often that’s not true. Each teacher or school owner has a personality of their own, teaching skills that they are more proficient in or a passion that doesn’t fit into the other dance programs in the area. At Project Motivate we help you to discover that it’s all right to do what you do best, to offer your community something different than all the others – that being unique is good for business. Discover where your true passion lies and then go for it! Project Motivate helps you get there!
