Please
accept my appreciation to [Nancy Wozny] and Goldrush
for the outstanding article on Mirror Dance
[January/February 2007] on behalf of all the film’s
participants. Although the documentary has been widely viewed
and written about, your story was by far the most accurate,
comprehensive, and well written.
As
professionals in the dance arts we are well aware of how often
facts get distorted and well-intentioned reporting is
frequently misinterpreted. This was not the case with your
excellent article. It was a glowing exception, and we are all
very grateful for your splendid effort.
The
documentary was recently shown in Havana at an international
film festival and was very well received. It continues to be
rebroadcast periodically as an “Independent Lens” production
on national public television channels.
Once again,
thank you for your interest in telling this emotional and
touching story.

I was
thrilled to open the current issue of Goldrush
[March/April 2007] to find an article about preregistration
for classes. I started working on that this week and your
article gave me ideas to include in starting up this program
for my students. The sample parent letter also was a time
saver. Thanks for knowing what we need and when we need it.

Every time
I read your magazine I get overwhelmed (in a good way)! It’s
as if you can read my mind. I just read this month’s
[March/April] edition and all I can say is thank you! The
articles are inspiring me to continue achieving my dreams and
visions. The wisdom and expertise is needed more than you’ll
ever know. Bless you for continuing to inspire your readers
and helping them to prosper (physically, mentally, and even
emotionally).

I have been
receiving your magazine for a few years now, and I can’t
believe how it always arrives just when I need a pick-me-up.
It also seems that whatever I might be going through with the
business or personally is addressed in this book. I have often
wondered if you sent it just to me! I love the personalized
style. Keep up the fantastic work. I have had a studio for 18
years and I look forward to another 18.

I work for
a program called Reach Out and Dance, which is a branch of The
National Dance Institute. I also teach dance in the YMCA
daycares. I have had some really bad experiences working in
dance studios, and the last one made me quite bitter and hurt,
and it has taken me a while to recover. I have many dance
dreams, and though my main focus is on being a stay-at-home
mom, I am still holding on to my dreams. Your magazine has
given me inspiration and been a friend to me during the time
of healing from my disappointing dance-studio experience.
I am not
sure if I will own my own dance studio someday, though the
idea excites me. I currently have a dance birthday party
business. But the funny thing is I love reading about dance
studio operation. Thank you so much for a wonderful, downto-
earth, helpful, and inspirational magazine.

OK, I’ve
been stressing out for two weeks with no time to think—seeing
Goldrush on my counter and no time to open it! I
finally did for a minute—I read the note from the publisher,
and I’m starting my day over! I will be calm and act like I’m
not overwhelmed anymore. And I feel much better! Thanks!

I have been
in business for 23 years and I am so glad to receive all the
information that you share. It is very informative and it
helps knowing that other dance teachers go through the same
things I do. You give great advice and many wonderful ideas—
please keep them coming.

The cover
is great this month [March/ April]! It really seems like the
magazine just gets better and better—just thought I’d let you
know.
