The purpose of the ADAPT Teacher’s Training School (T.T.S.) is to encourage and train senior dancers and assistant teachers who are interested in becoming professional dance teachers, as well as dance teachers who are already teaching and are interested in improving their teaching skills and earning their ADAPT Certification.

 

The course is a graduating, seven-day intensive “learn to teach dancing” course and is held each summer for three consecutive years. It is a progressive three-year program and participants are expected to attend all three summers in order to achieve their ADAPT Teacher’s Certificate.

DEA is celebrating its 75th Anniversary and the 65th Anniversary of its Teacher Training & Certification Program. A dynamic, multidimensional program enhancing and furthering the knowledge of dance and teaching techniques based on “How-What- When & Why” to teach and prepare for certification (by examinations) in the five major dance subjects at three levels of achievement, sanctioned by the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. This program is for both the young teacher, and for the established teacher wishing to renew, revitalize, and advance his/her teaching methods in classical ballet, tap, modern, jazz, and acro/tumbling.
